[EUROPE SERIES PART 2/4]

SECOND DESTINATION

PARIS, FRANCE

Romance exists where purple skies appear after the sun goes down. Welcome to the city of love, woohoo!LRG_DSC01617

The Eiffel Tower lights up for 7 minutes when the clock strikes 11 and it’s one of those things that no camera can capture the wonderment of (but most of us like to try). LRG_DSC01666

Here’s another look at night life, taken from the middle of an intersection. I don’t think night skies come in the color black here. LRG_DSC02116

Here are a couple shots from a place I forgot the name of. It’s basically a gigantic garden/park that maintains its serenity despite crowds of sightseers passing through it every day. LRG_DSC01734LRG_DSC01748

If England has enchanting doors, France has enchanting terraces. LRG_DSC01822

Even if you’re not a big art person, you can’t help but appreciate the detail that goes into all the architecture here. Look at this! There are human sculptures decorating the arches of the Notre Dame! WHAT!LRG_DSC02221

Again, I forgot where this was taken but the awe in architecture remains the same. LRG_DSC02150

Here’s the Eiffel Tower during the day, with me in front of it LOLLRG_DSC01919

We passed by this large grid of vents where strong air would push upwards from it (due to the subways zooming by underground I think?) and what you had to do was gather a bunch of these butterfly paper cutouts from the ground around it….

And you throw it up in the air and it looks like this!!!LRG_DSC01975

It’s me with the Mona Lisa! Visiting the Louvre Art Museum was probably one of the highlights of the trip. It was the first time I truly appreciated paintings and sculptures and just…these creations were born from a person’s brain…and they’re seen by millions of people thousands of years after they were created! Isn’t that nuts???? All of these facts from AP Euro suddenly made sense to me and it was overwhelming to have something like art and history wrap around me like a security blanket. The best way I can describe it is when you watch a wild movie and then at the end, just before the film fades into ending credits, a “BASED ON A TRUE STORY” line appears followed by a bunch of real life pictures and footage that they recreated in the movie. I don’t know man…it’s crazy.LRG_DSC02288

“Hot dog” = hot dog in a BAGUETTE LRG_DSC02234

Kaitlyn took me on a walk around the street near our hotel so here is her within the some of city’s most charming nooks. LRG_DSC02331LRG_DSC02361LRG_DSC02366

Lastly, here are a couple pictures that I thought exemplified the truest candid shots of enjoyment (featuring my sister and cousins). LRG_DSC02043LRG_DSC02152LRG_DSC02164LRG_DSC02165
